Anime channel widens overseas network
Satellite channel Animax is preparing to celebrate its 10th anniversary as it continues to introduce Japanese animation to viewers around the world.
The channel claims a viewership of 41 million households in Japan and 46 other countries, though the channel is included in basic packages for cable and satellite services.
In commemoration of the anniversary, the broadcaster will air its newest original anime series from July, the month it began broadcasting.
Animax Broadcast Japan Inc. in Minato Ward, Tokyo, was established in May 1998 as a subsidiary of Sony Pictures Entertainment and started broadcasting in July that year.
